It will steer to the right but not to the left. When I press on the left steering pedal, it stops the dozer just like applying the brake.
I read the manual and followed all the adjustment procedures. So far, no luck in getting the left steering to work. The dozer starts easily and runs fine. I now have to put it in reverse, step on the "right" steering pedal to go "left".
It's tough to operate the dozer that way. Apprearantly, there were some changes at Nortrac. They no longer provide phone support like they used to. Now, they just direct the calls to a contracted service center in my area. All they can tell me is to bring the dozer into their shop. Of course, they want business. They don't get paid talking over the phone.Support escalation process
I can undertand that. However, I'm very disappointed with Nortrac's new policy in providing support. So, before trying to haul this lb beast into their service center, I'm wondering if anyone can help me out. I know some of you here have the Yuchai dozer. It's the same as the Nortrac. Thanks for your help. Reply With Quote. Re: Nortrac dozer steering problem It's simple. Your left steering clutch pack isn't separating, but the brake is being applied.
Worst case scenario is you have probably broken the bell crank on the release fork, or God forbid you have seized the plates to the drum, which is usually caused by riding the steering clutch. Root rake, laser machine control, box scraper, ROPS winch and boom, parallelogram ripper, front end loader. Bob Rooks advice may seem simple to him, but it's Chinese to me.20 inch biceps
I'm handy with tools but not a mechanic and have never worked on a dozer before, so I'm not familiar with the terms he mentions. Have you had any luck on solving your issue? If you have, could you share please. It would sure help me. For the existing system to operate correctly the brake adjustment must be "pre-loaded" tight, meaning that the brake band will always be in contact and rubbing against the drum.

A decade later, Chinese machinery maker Yuchai spotted a gap in the field of small excavators and launched its first mini-hydraulic machine. The company set up a production base, becoming the first manufacturer of mini hydraulic excavators in China.
After two short years, inthe first of the Yuchai mini excavator range to come off the production line was exported to Germany. Ina new base was opened and Yuchai Heavy Machinery Industry was formed. Later the same year the 50,th Yuchai Mini Excavator was produced and the company moved into making rotary drilling machines.
Today, Yuchai Heavy Industry has the potential to produce 20, pieces of construction machinery annually and in was named among the top 50 construction machinery manufacturers in the world. This little excavator competes in the two-tonne range and is easily transported with a small trailer. It is zero-swing, powered by a 20hp Perkins diesel and comes with an open cab with a canopy or a sealed cab.
The hydraulic system is powered by a Japanese-made high-flow piston pump and main valve, which provides an auxiliary flow rate of 30 LPM. The tracks can be expanded to 1. The machine is fitted with two-speed track drive motors 1. The YC18SR also comes with a manual spring quick hitch, a dozer blade as standard and an off-settable boom.Longest increasing subsequence nlogn
There are many plusses to the YC18SR and with the retractable tracks it is easily hauled on a suitable box trailer. An acreage-sized ride-on mower has bigger dimensions. Our demonstration machine had a small hydraulic rockbreaker and auger, which came in handy on the demonstration site.
Besides a fuel gauge, temp oil pressure gauges should be compulsory but were not fitted to this little machine. The cable-operated throttle is smooth and simple and sits beside the conventional control lever on the right-hand-side of the cabin. Light and warning switches are on the left-hand-side side of the control arm, as are the controls for the bi-directional hydraulic piping and off-set boom operation are located on the floor beside the travel levers.
Our demo site was on a domestic house block in rural South East Queensland. The work required the machine to tidy up and to get under a high-set house to trim the natural ground level for a planned concrete floor. Once the material was scraped bare to the correct level it was bucketed and pushed with the little push blade fitted to the machine. Once in place the tracks could be widened for better working stability. The footings of the house were already concreted and it required some excavation experience to clean around the reo already in place without causing too much damage.
It was expected that when the concrete trucks made it to site, the little Yuchai would be put to the test again by reversing the bucket and helping shift concrete from the waiting agitators to the hard-to-reach areas under the building. By pushing the limits and thinking outside the square a bit, an operator is able to speed up the job and save strenuous and costly labour easily, safely and productively.
The hydraulics are smooth when in digging mode and the two-speed travel motors ensure mobility across the ground is kept to a minimum when traversing the site. Again, probably designed to minimise overall length of the machine, the push blade is too close to the cab and not designed to push in bulk. However, the excavator is capable of pushing a surprising amount of material in the hands of a competent operator.
Again, not confined to the Yuchai is a design issue with the length of the dipper arm, bucket linkages and the length of the blade from the track frame. When the time came to pick up the last of the loose material to tidy I found that the dipper arm was too short and the bucket linkage travel was restricted so much that close-in clean-up work was not possible.
One would expect that you could squash the last remaining material into the blade to clean up but the blade, although it protrudes enough for pushing, is located too close to the track frame to do this.
But for what it is and the price structure of this machine it is well worth a good look if you just happen to be in the market for a new machine of this calibre, size and price.Discussion in ' Compact Excavators ' started by abreckellJun 2, Log in or Sign up. Welcome to HeavyEquipmentForums. Yuchai Excavators??? Joined: Nov 18, Messages: 5 Location: Australia. Just looking for a reviews and pro and cons of anybody who owns, operates or has worked on Yuchai excavators and if there worthwhile buying one.
Joined: Nov 19, Messages: Location: philippines. Joined: Mar 1, Messages: 1, Location: Connecticut. I have a friend who bought a 5 ton yuchai for cheap. It gets the job done but it has no resale value.
If you can get one for next to nothing, it might be worth it. I wouldn't pay list or anything close to dealer asking price for one, though.Forum Rules. Home Forums Reviews Articles Store. Last Jump to page: Results 1 to 10 of I am considering purchasing one of the small 30hp Nortrac dozers from a seller in Chicago.
It is a 10 hour drive for me so I have only been able to see the dozer in pics and video.Friday, 20 december 2013
The machine seems fine but there is one thing I saw in the video that concerns me. When the blade is put in the down position it falls quickly to the ground. It seems to me that it should move very slowly. Does anyone know if this is normal on these dozers? Maybe he is doing it on purpose, I am not sure. Shouldn't the controls be as such that the further you move the control, the faster it goes down?
I have a new Kubota BX25 and of course that is how the controls operate on it. This would be my first dozer purchase and just looking not to get stung. Any comment would be appreciated. Also I am going to try and attach a link for the 2 videos as I uploaded them to youtube after he emailed to me. Reply With Quote. I watched the 2 video and while it appeared that the guy was "cowboying" the machine pretty hard, early in the video I could see the blade lowering at less than a full gravity speed drop so I think the valves are probably okay.
A bit hard to be positive, but that's my opinion. I noticed that he was being a bit rough on it too. I hope they have not treated it that way the entire time they have had it. It has 57 hours at this time. I am like you, it's a little hard to tell if he was just "slamming" it or if it was falling under its' own weight. I have contacted him with this question and have not gotten a response yet.
Is this price in the ballpark of what someone could expect to pay for one of these machines?
